The children's author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

The author

Acclaimed young adult author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the publisher commented: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was made after an review of claims about conduct deemed unsuitable towards young women.

The company declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

A Prolific Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, having sold in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, which features a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
