Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Cockpit Window
An aircraft ferrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was required to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the jet's front window, as stated by an announcement which stated that all passengers were secure.
"The plane touched down based on established safety measures and all passengers, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," an official representative commented in a social media post.
Hegseth was returning from a short visit to the city of Brussels at the time.
This event is not the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a high-ranking official has encountered technical problems.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane carrying Marco Rubio to Munich was required to head back to the US capital after encountering a technical issue.
