Netflix Selects Spot-On Star for Mr. 2 in One Piece Upcoming Installment
Baroque Works is set to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the real showdown isn’t set to occur until season 3, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has now been chosen.
The platform declared Tuesday that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will embody Bon Clay. This character can use their power to transform into an perfect replica of any person they’ve touched with their main hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that figure re-envisioned as non-binary, instead of as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the source material and animated series.
The new cast member is joined by multiple fresh additions set to bring the group to the screen, including chief Mr. 0, portrayed by the seasoned performer, a talented actress as a key member, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who is also part of the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of Alabasta.
Even though the role is a key figure of the group, the persona won’t make their debut One Piece the upcoming installment. With season 2 likely to portray the Little Garden arc, this signals a major departure in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could indicate more adjustments to the story’s structure.
The actor’s combination of excellent comedic sense and emotional depth makes them a standout choice for the part. Along with their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, emphasizing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated characters.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is set to return for its season two on the tenth of March, 2026.
