Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Claims Involving Player Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs issued a statement Wednesday night indicating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in online accounts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the NFL.
The team omitted the name of Rice specifically in their announcement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention the athlete by name, shared a set of images on social media that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. Jones stated the person involved was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.
Official Complaints Reportedly Unavailable
No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Rice's Prior Legal Issues
The receiver was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign following an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that resulted in several individuals injured. Rice was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
On the field, he finished the season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five TDs as the Chiefs went with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
