Barça to Host Historic Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday

Barça revealed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in domestic competition over two years after they moved out for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside under the licence granted. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held an open training session on the home pitch on 7 November. The club said they are seeking authorization from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht next month at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
